Mr Hewitt Taylor
Hewitt Taylor is an educator, specialized in Mathematics and Science. He has devoted 90 percent of his practice to teaching mathematics in three different countries (Jamaica, Bahamas, and Bermuda) extending over four (4) secondary schools and two (2) colleges- Atlantic College and The College
of The Bahamas. Mr. Taylor has extensive experience in The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning throughout the education sector. He has authored various mathematics modules and has facilitated workshops on Best Practices to teachers of Mathematics in Bahamas and Bermuda.
In 1997, Hewitt graduated from the Mico Teacher’s College where he received the awards for Excellence in Teaching of Mathematics and The Best Teacher of General Science. In 2000, he was the recipient of the Teacher of the Year award at Dinthill Technical High School. In 2004, Hewitt received an honors degree in Mathematics at University of the West Indies. He completed his Masters of Science degree in Higher Education at the Walden University in 2016 with Honors.
Hewitt Taylor has a wide range of experience with various Mathematics curricula to include: CXC, CSEC, CAPE, GCSE, IGCSE, AP Calculus AB, Advanced Level Mathematics, Finite Mathematics and Calculus for Business and Social and life Sciences.
In 2018, Hewitt Taylor was awarded the Teacher of the Year at The Berkeley Institute, Bermuda. His work continued as he was also the BEN Outstanding Teacher Award nominee for the Bermuda Education Network Outstanding Teacher award 2019. In addition to those awards, Hewitt went on to mentor teachers in Mathematics in Bermuda and was awarded Certificate of Training – Observations of a Master Teacher– Bermuda Teacher Induction Programme (BTIP)- 2019
Being an educator for over 25 years, Hewitt Taylor finds it to be a very enriching and rewarding experience especially when he sees lives transform through the exercise of patience and dexterity in his pedagogical practices.
Hewitt now holds Basketball, athletics, and soccer as his favorite sports
